The district is in the process of changing the current website. While we are excited about the changes to our parent communication system, we will experience some difficulties in the transition. For now, all parent and student accounts are not working. You can still view and get updated information, but will not be able to interact with this system. Thank you for your patience as we improve our system. More information will be sent out as we implement the new system. |

Good Things Come to Those Who Wait
There is nothing that can top the looks on the faces of the Paulina Elementary School students when they raced towards their new playground equipment! Two years ago, the playground equipment was removed due to safety hazards. The students were then opted to play with footballs, soccer balls, hula-hoops and jump ropes. It was from that point on that the future playground for Paulina Elementary School students was placed as top priority.
For the next several months the playground committee met with various companies and worked collaboratively picking out equipment that would meet the needs of their students. Once this vision was complete, it was time to begin raising the funds to make it happen. Students began to sell cookie dough, cakes, pies, brownies and chocolate bunnies. They all knew that the proceeds from these fundraisers would be allocated towards their playground equipment and were all excited about being a part of this project.
After two years of hoping, dreaming and saving – the vision became a reality. In addition to the school fundraiser profits, grants, and District allocations, PTO also donated $13,000. Two playground structures were purchased and the plans for installment began. The students eagerly watched and waited as the area was sketched out and cement was poured. Then on Monday, October 10, an amazing collaboration happened! Members from the community, parents, volunteers from Lamar Contracting and our Partner in Education, Mosaic, came together to build the playground. These adults drilled and bolted hundreds of pieces of materials together until the final product was complete. Just shortly after the surfacing was installed, the PES students were enjoying their recess as they got to play on their new equipment.
The Paulina School Family would like to thank all community members and parents that contributed to making this vision a success!
Great Job PES students! Keep up the good behavior!!
